Lani Beauty Product Review

by Freya

Over the past year, I’ve developed increasingly dry and frizzy hair, so I’ve been searching for the best vegan and cruelty free products to combat this. I’ve tried loads of different hair masks, and nothing has quite done the trick. So when Lani sent me a few of their products to try, including their best selling Tropical Hair Treatment, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect! Lani is a natural, vegan, and cruelty-free hair and skincare brand which is also really affordable. What I love about this brand is that all their products come in glass bottles and jars, so no extra nasty plastic ending up in our oceans! They also use “food-grade ingredients and are always free of parabens, synthetic fragrances, silicones, mineral oils and animal-derived ingredients.” What’s not to love?!

TROPICAL HAIR TREATMENT

The first thing you notice when you take the lid off is the glorious scent! It’s made from camellia seed oil, coconut oil, kukui nut oil and macadamia nut oil; so lots of lovely nourishing ingredients. I’ve been using it for a few months as a pre-wash treatment. I rub a small amount all over my hair and leave for 30 mins – 1 hour, then shampoo it out in the shower. You can also use it to tame flyaways on dry hair, or as an overnight treatment. After the first few uses, I already noticed a difference. I’ve been using it in conjunction with a moisturising shampoo and conditioner, and after a few months, my hair is much softer, smoother and with less frizz, which is just what I wanted!

THE BEAUTY STONE

I’ve been using a jade roller for a few years, but it recently broke, so I was very excited to try Lani’s beauty stone. It essentially does what a jade roller does, however, it’s shaped to fit the curves of your face, and it feels like it’s giving you a much deeper massage. It’s made from Bian stone, which gives 3x more pulses when compared to jade & quartz. The pulses help improve microcirculation, which leads to all sorts of wonderful things for your skin, including helping to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, reduce puffiness, enhance absorption ability for skincare products, encouraging lymphatic drainage and more!

It took a bit of getting used to at first. I experimented with all the different edges to see what worked best for me. That’s what I like most about this product! The wavy edges are perfect for using on the cheekbones and jawline, and the toothed edges work really well on the forehead. You can mix and match together to create the perfect routine for you. I’m not 100% sure if this has made a huge difference to my skin yet. I need to use it more religiously and consistently. What I have noticed is that it just feels like such a treat to use. I get a lot of pressure built up in my sinuses, and using this always seems to help relieve that. It also seems to make my skin look a bit tighter around the cheekbone and jaw area.

I’ve really enjoyed using both these products, so I definitely want to try out more from their range. A brands ethos is also super important to me when buying products, so Lani ticks a lot of those ethical boxes!
